Update#8
3 July 2007
G'day All
Well it happened, what an event!
Images
I won't keep you in suspense any longer, a preliminary show
of the images is at
http://www.murbah57.org/the_reunion/.
When you click a new window will open and it then stands alone
until you close, the main site will still be there behind
it. The images are reduced and degraded but still over 7Mb
in all so if you have a slow connection be patient and maybe
be a bit selective.
The CD (DVD?) with higher resolution images for the on screen
slideshow and even higher for possible printing will follow
reasonably soon and be sent out to those who requested it.
Those who forgot to ask could use the register page to transfer
$10 to our bank account (please put your name as reference
on the bank details) or mail me a cheque

You however now have a chance to have some input into the
final version. Please peruse the images (about 230 out of
the 550 taken) and let me know if a particular one needs removing
or something is missing or the navigation is confusing, whatever.
Maybe it should be brutally halved in number but all who were
there are represented at least once, except for the Principal's
husband who managed to escape the cameras.
If you are anxious for a print immediately then a high res
version of the image below is available for downloading at
this address but be warned it is 3.4 Mb if you click

The movie will take a bit longer as I have 36Gb or enough
for 8 DVDs! I think I will have to convert the speeches to
very low quality video (the lighting was lousy anyway) with
good quality audio or maybe even audio only for some. These
will be offered as special features, the main video being
only 15-20 minutes of highlights. Will stew on it some more
and get back to you.
The future
The bank account will remain open for a while, the website
will remain open for as long as you collectively wish and
support. I will request small donations if and when required.
Efforts by all should continue to recover lost souls.
A repeat in Oct 2009 is mooted, maybe let the euphoria die
a little but it would be great to see those who couldn't make
it - soon. Maybe one every decade after that until the last
two arrange to have a hot milk in a hospital caferteria somewhere?
My thanks
To the committee; the driving force David L., Sandra whose
venue suggestions and arrangements immediately removed my
greatest fears and her smooth MCing, Eleanor for the main
event programme and numerous other things and Robyn for the
contacts and coorporate memory. We were a fortuitous mix of
skills and personalities that made it all one of my most enjoyable
and memorable experiences. My thanks also to many others who
contributed along the way and my thanks to all who came -
loved your company.
What an extraordinary event and on reflection nothing needed
to be different, since talking, smiling, eating, drinking
and hugging were the main events, maybe a large open space
would do?
Regards
Dave G
